Charleston Trip Recap + Our Girls’ Night In Gift Box
Here at Lauren Ashley Studio, we happen to love the Bravo reality show, Southern Charm, more than we care to admit. In our downtime, you can find us catching up on episodes as we live vicariously through Charleston socialites who embody Southern grace (and sass) to a T.
Call us major fangirls, but when the opportunity to take a Southern Charm-inspired trip to Charleston came along, we jumped on it without hesitation. Our four-day itinerary included plenty of sightseeing, dining, shopping and, of course, a few stops at noteworthy locations tied to the show and cast members.
Thanks to the images captured by Catherine Ann Photography, we’re so excited to share a recap of our time in Charleston along with a closer peek at our Girls’ Night In gift box featuring curated picks designed to pamper and relax. We truly adore our Girls’ Night In gift box because whether or not you’re able to squeeze in a special getaway, sending love to the ladies in your life is always in style.
SIGHTSEEING + ACCOMMODATIONS
As any good Charleston experience should, our trip began with a carriage ride tour covering the rich history and beauty of the city. From its pastel-colored facades to its cobblestone streets, the Historic Downtown District charmed us from the very first moment. Being the dedicated Southern Charm fans that we are, our sightseeing even included a stroll down Chalmers Street —also known as “Labor Lane”—which is the bumpy cobblestone street Shep drove Cameron down to help induce her labor.
Another favorite fangirl moment happened as we stopped outside Patricia Altschul's historic and stately home. The mother of Southern Charm cast member and producer, Whitney Sudler-Smith, Ms. Altschul’s home is an absolute dream and was even featured in Architectural Digest.
During our trip, we called The Inns, Charleston our dedicated home base. We felt so fortunate to stay right in the heart of historic Charleston and enjoy the roomy accommodations the property provided.
DINING + SHOPPING
There’s no shortage of good restaurants in Charleston, and we made it our personal mission to seek out some of the city’s very best. We had a lovely time wining and dining at Anson Restaurant, Husk Restaurant, and Magnolias, just to name a few, and enjoyed a special dinner at Halls Chophouse followed by some nightlight fun on our last evening in the city.
Similar to dining, the shopping scene in Charleston went above and beyond our wildest expectations. Most notable from the trip was our stop at Gwynn's of Mount Pleasant, a local luxury department store that’s become a Charleston institution. Gwynn’s staff properly spoiled our group with incredible hospitality as we shopped and explored. After spending some time in their gorgeous store, it’s certainly no wonder Southern Charm’s Kathryn Dennis serves as an ambassador for the brand.
GIRLS’ NIGHT IN
Our Charleston trip was all about the celebration of female friendship, so bringing along our Girls’ Night In gift boxes felt perfectly fitting. Inside each box, we were treated to a collection of pampering products, including cozy llama socks, facial buffing powder mix, shea butter balm, a beautiful journal, 33 carats nail polish, and a seasonal floral bundle to tie it all together. You might also notice we wore our matching “Craig Is My Lawyer” t-shirts as a playful nod to our beloved show.
Of course, we know a grand, reality show-inspired getaway with your ladies isn’t always on the books, which is why we created the Girls’ Night In gift box specially designed to treat the women you love most dearly. Whether you opt to send for a special occasion or surprise a friend “just because,” our Girls’ Night In box is a meaningful way to make any daughter, sister, bridesmaid, or friend feel truly cherished.
